Maisie's Movie Day
Story
Join us for Maisie's Movie Day!
Date: 14/04/2018
Time: 11:30am
Location: : Event Cinema Top Ryde
Why: We have decided to help raise funds for Dementia Australia because of our Nana, Maisie.
Since her diagnosis we have slowly lost part of her to dementia. We have seen it start to take away her precious memories, watched her thinking skills decline and her ability to perform day today activities, such as making her beloved cup of tea, as well as getting lost in her own home. So, we have decided what better way to raise awareness and funds than a Movie day.
Together let's raise awareness and funds for Dementia Australia.
Join us for Maisie's Movie Day on the 14th of April to see Love, Simon.
This cause is close to our hearts as our Nana, Maisie was a few years ago.
For Maisie, we are lucky that it has progressed relatively slowly, but we still have seen it take away some of the confidence, independence and probably lucky for the rest of us her ability to drive.
So whip open those wallets as we settle in to watch Love, Simon. The movie will start as 12pm, so we encourage you to arrive 15 minutes early!
In our eyes dementia has taken away a part of the most beautiful person in the world. The proceeds raised will help fund research into dementia.
Activity
Dementia Australia
Dementia Australia is a unified, national peak body for people, of all ages, living with all forms of dementia, and their families and carers. We provide advocacy, support services, education and information, as well as fundraise and facilitate research into dementia.
We aim to give people living with Dementia the respect they deserve and the support they need. We advocate to government and industry on behalf of people living with dementia, their carers and families and work hard to raise community awareness and understanding of dementia. Please visit www.dementia.org.au to access a wide range of resources and how to contact our National Dementia Helpline.
Community support through donations and sponsorship, as well as bequests, is vital to the continuation and growth of our work.
